FLY A HOT AIR BALLOON OVER THE VELDT

Fly A Hot Air Balloon Over The Veldt

Whether in Namibia, South Africa, Kenya or Tanzania, this is a highlight of many a visit to Africa. Enjoy your bird's eye view of the African landscape and the daily struggle for life on the ground, before the traditional Champagne breakfast in the bush!

In East Africa (Kenya and Tanzania) the adventure typically begins before dawn, with flames from the balloons burners lighting the darkness as the craft inflates and rises, and you enjoy a spectacular African sunrise. Suspended below the multi-coloured canopy you’re off for a wildlife viewing adventure with an entirely different perspective, appreciating the stillness and the silence as you float above the majestic African plains. Flights typically last an hour and then in time-honoured tradition of balloon flights the world over, you toast your return to earth with a champagne breakfast, cooked wherever you land.

"Up, up and away" as you sail silently over the reddish dune sea of the Namib Desert in Namibia. Again the flight starts as the sun rises, with the first light of the day highlighting the rich contrast of colour and shape on the towering sand dunes of the Sossusvlei region. The flight itself takes about one hour and once again ends with a champagne breakfast at a scenic landing spot.

In South Africa we offer hot air balloon flights from a selection of amazing locations. The Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site in Gauteng , one of the world's richest early human geological sites; in The Free State fly over the site of the largest meteor strike in Earth's history and the picturesque and quaint village of Clarens; or the spectacular central and southern Drakensberg mountains and Tala Private Game Reserve in KwaZulu Natal; between April and October flights are available over the Kalahari desert and Augrabies National Park in the Northern Cape; only a couple of hours from Cape Town, flights are available; we also offer a wonderful scenic experience with magnificent views of the Mpumalanga escarpment and the Lowveld (outside of Kruger National Park).

Please Note - Ballooning is strictly weather permitting.
