All suites include en-suite bathrooms with a spa bath and choice of indoor or outdoor shower, are air-conditioned, include minibar fridges and tea and coffee stations. The rounded entrance leads to a spacious dining area, a large lounge and library and the bar, all joined together by a double-sided fireplace. There is also a separate television lounge with a DVD player, games and books. This main building is totally surrounded by shady verandahs offering stunning panoramic views across the savannah or towards the swimming pool and sun deck. Activities include morning and afternoon game drives, guided bush walks, bird watching and canoeing on the Bushmans River. For younger guests there is a childrens room offering television, a dvd player, games and books. Children of all ages are welcome.
The 7,500 hectare Amakhala Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa preserves a complex and diverse ecosystem, providing habitat for over 60 mammal species and 250 bird species. The Bushman’s River winds its way through the reserve and the dramatic and ever changing topography of Amakhala Game Reserve is host to an abundant tapestry of sights and sounds - you never know what you might see around the next turn of the land-rover track. The majestic lion, herds of elephant, buffalo and giraffe, cheetah and endangered white and black rhino make up the big game component. Amakhala Game Reserve is also home to substantial herds of plains game species including zebra, black wildebeest, red hartebeest, oryx and eland to name but a few.
