Whilst the largest island within the Archipelago, being responsible for 86% of the country's population and housing the capital Victoria, Mahé offers many opportunities for tranquility and exciting adventures. Reknowned for it's incredible coastline, it is worth noting that exploring the mountainous terrain inland brings rewards such as Morne Seychellois National Park. The park has a total of seven official nature trails that will guide you to the doorstep of such pristine environment and through the heart of these Protected Areas, taking in a variety of habitats from coastal mangroves to the Seychelles' highest peak, the Morne Seychellois (905m).
Mahé's surrounding waters provide a multitude of adventurous activities, with diving and snorkelling being very popular due to the fantastic array of marine life. It is even possible to have a true bucket list experience by swimming alongside the largest fish in the ocean, the whale shark. That is of course if you can bring yourself to leave the paradise that is the beach!
