VICTORIA FALLS & CHOBE

Victoria Falls & Chobe

The Victoria Falls are a spectacular sight and one of the undoubted natural wonders of the world. Over a width of nearly 2 km, almost 550 million cubic meters of water per minute cascade over the edge, at the height of the flood season, into the gorge 100 metres below.

days 1-2

Victoria Falls

On arrival into Livingstone you will be met and transferred, by road, to your hotel or lodge for your 2-night stay. There are plenty of different ways to see the Falls – on a guided walking tour; a cruise on the Zambezi; or in a light aircraft.

This area is also well known as an activity centre – white-water rafting; microlighting; bungee jumping; river boarding; tandem kayaking; abseiling; elephant back safaris; and finally the gorge swing!

day 3

Chobe National Park

This morning you will be transferred, by road (approx. 2 hours) or by a combination of road & light aircraft to your chosen safari lodge, Chobe Game Lodge or Savute Safari Lodge respectively.

Both lodges are part of the Desert & Delta Safaris portfolio

day 4

Chobe National Park

Chobe is famed for its huge elephant population but also offers excellent all round game viewing. Game drives are undertaken in open safari vehicles, on foot or by boat. There is no substitute to waking up in the African bush.

day 5

Chobe National Park & Onward

After a final game activity you will head back to Livingstone or Maun airport for your onward journey.

The Victoria Falls area is also rapidly becoming known as one of the ‘Adventure Centres’ of Southern Africa with various adrenaline sports, breathtaking scenery and many other leisure options for outdoor lovers. Hotels range from comfortable 3-star properties to exclusive riverside lodges.

Home to an estimated 45 000 Elephants, Chobe National Park is one of the best places in Africa to see these magnificent creatues in their natural habitat, and in large numbers, on a great African Safari.

In the Savute Swamp region of the park dry season game viewing concentrates on Savute’s resident bull elephants, lion and much more whilst the summer rains bring migrating Zebra and wildebeest, and swell Savute’s already prolific bird-life.
