The Bazaruto Archipelago

One of the most beautiful parts of Africa, the Bazaruto Archipelago is a small number of dune islands off the coast of Vilanculos in Mozambique. It provides the perfect backdrop for an exquisite Indian Ocean experience.

It would be hard to find a finer beach destination, these idyllic islands are untouched. Framed by swaying palms, the white sands lead you to the perfect blue ocean where the flawless coral reefs stretch for miles under the surface.

The archipelago has been designated a national park since 1971. This has ensured that the natural world continues to thrive, providing visitors with stunning vistas and experiences. The bright blue waters are filled with thousands of species of colourful fish making this location perfect for diving and snorkelling. Dolphins, turtles and even Nile crocodiles can be seen in the clear waters - but one of the most special sights is that of the foraging dugongs. The Bazaruto Archipelago is a wonderful location for bird life too. From eagles and hawks, to kingfishers and hoopoes, there are dozens of species highlighting the diverse habitat.
