Whilst the Country is landlocked, Malawi has a fabulous and famous 'inland sea'. Lake Malawi is an enormous body of freshwater that provides beautiful sand beaches, stunning visuals and many opportunities for water sports.
Whilst comparatively small to other parks in this part of Africa, Liwonde National Park has a wonderful array of wildlife. The Shire River dominates the western boundary providing prime locations for spotting hippos and crocodiles.
The Nyika Highlands are split between Malawi and Zambia. The Malawian side hosts the larger portion of the Nyika National Park with many different routes and trails to follow. It extends across the great plateau with highland grass swaying in the breeze and rocky outcrops punctuating the awesome landscape.
