Kruger, Swaziland & Zululand

This is an African journey to some of South Africa’s finest scenic sights and most prolific Big Five game-viewing country.

You will visit the quaint historical mining town of Pilgrim’s Rest; the awe-inspiring landscape of Blyde River Canyon and God’s Window; the vast expanses of Kruger National Park, in pursuit of the legendary Big Five; the Kingdom of Swaziland; the World Heritage Site of Lake St Lucia; the city of Durban; and finally some chill time on the beach at the south coast town of Southbroom.

This tour is a great balance between wild and tame, culture and creativity, and you’ll have experienced the majesty of this special corner of Africa.

You will tour in an air-conditioned minibus or small coach (the fewer the passengers the smaller the vehicle to be used – minimum 2 / maximum 20 people); Accommodation on the tour (5 nights) will be of a 3-star standard

days 1-2

Heathrow To Johannesburg

South African Airways overnight flight from Heathrow to Johannesburg.

Upon arrival you will be met and assisted to your shuttle transfer service to the hotel. You are under own arrangements for the rest of the day.

day 3

Mpumalanga And The Lowveld

Meet up with the group and depart Johannesburg’s distinctive skyline this morning and head for Pretoria, South Africa’s capital city, for a short orientation tour, before continuing to Mpumalanga and the Lowveld. Pass over the spectacular Long Tom Pass onto the small town of Sabie, before exploring the living history of Pilgrim’s Rest, the mining village where gold was first discovered.

Blyde River Canyon

This morning visit God’s Window, a boundless view of forested mountains and fertile plains, and visit the spectacular Blyde River Canyon, one of the natural wonders of Africa.

Explore the quaint village of Graskop before arriving mid afternoon at your overnight hotel.

day 5

On Safari

Set off before breakfast in open safari vehicles in search of lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard, and all manner of wondrous wildlife, birds and plant species.

day 6


Today you head for the Kingdom of Swaziland, a former British Protection Territory, now ruled by King MsWati III.

Enjoy a Swazi cultural experience, then visit the Ngwenya Glass Factory to see master craftsmen fashion collectable figures and functional art out of molten glass. Your next stop is the capital city Mbabane, known for its vibrant markets packed with woven baskets, beadwork and carvings.

day 6


Visit a Swazi Candle Factory then on into Zululand, arriving mid-afternoon at the town of St Lucia, a World Heritage Site and home to hippo, crocodile and no less than 367 bird species.

This afternoon you have the option to purchase (own account) an exciting open safari vehicle game drive into Hluhluwe- Imfolozi Park.

day 8

Lake St. Lucia

This morning enjoy a cruise on Lake St Lucia before departing for Durban, hugging the lush KwaZulu-Natal coastline en route. You will be dropped at your Durban hotel where the escorted section of this holiday ends. Spend the rest of the day at leisure in Durban.

days 9-13

Indian Ocean Relaxation

This morning you will be collected and transferred (approx. 11⁄2 hours) to Southbroom, a popular holiday village with beautiful sand beaches, 5 good golf courses, good restaurants and of course the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Your beach-house style guesthouse will be your home for the next 5 nights.

Johannesburg To Heathrow

Transfer to the airport for your overnight flight to Heathrow, via Johannesburg, with South African Airways.
