North Island

10 Villas, 1 Presidential Villa

Located around 30km and a scenic 15 minute helicopter flight from the main island of Mahé, North Island, one of the 'inner' islands, is a place of barefoot luxury for those seeking a truly spectacular tropical retreat.

The Guest Villas

Accommodation consists of only 11 elegant and spacious self-contained guest villas, constructed with an alluring blend of local materials and imported luxuries, and never more than a few steps from the eastern beach. In keeping with the overall ethos of North Island the air-conditioned villas combine modern comforts and understated beach chic, but all underpinned by a defining quality. Each villa (except Villa 11 - the larger Villa North Island) features a study/lounge area that can be made into a second bedroom, for families, and a luxurious master suite with indoor and outdoor showers. Glazed sliding doors open onto your expansive sun deck, private plunge pool and adjacent shaded sala, and views to die for. A small kitchen allows full in-villa dining, and a butler service is offered.

Food & Facilities

Food is a big deal on North Island, with the best and freshest ingredients and flexibility being the key - the guests can call the shots. As well as a set daily menu, individual menus are available on consultation with the chef, and you can dine or picnic where you please. A sunset bar and restaurant are tucked away on the western beach of the island, and they boast a fine wine cellar. Stays on North Island are All Inclusive.

The main lounge, dining room and library, scenically located health spa and gym, dive centre, and a rim-flow swimming pool are all built into a granitic outcrop. There is plenty do keep the more activie occupied, great fishing, crusing & sailing, mountain bike and and hiking trails, and North Island Buggies! The spa offers a range of beauty treatments, with selected in-villa treatments available.

our opinion:

North Island is an inspirational example of an ecologically sensitive arrangement, with natural habitats being rehabilitated and critically endangered Seychelles fauna and flora being reintroduced. A heady combination of natural beauty, the very best beaches, privacy, conservation and understated chic luxury. It's very expensive, but it's also totally unique. Families are welcome.
