Overland In Botswana

This is undoubtedly one of the cheapest ways of visiting Botswana. You will get to camp in the heart of the Okavango Delta, enjoy game walks and open vehicle game drives, as well as visiting Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and some of Botswana’s very best safari areas. This tour offers the traveller, photographer, birdwatcher and naturalist the ultimate natural paradise.

day 1

Heathrow To Johannesburg

Overnight flight from Heathrow to Johannesburg

day 2

maun camp

Arrive by air in Maun today and transfer to the Maun camp, situated on the banks of the Boteti River. In the afternoon you will take a walk to a local village for an insight into how the local inhabitants cope in these harsh conditions.

Tonight enjoy a traditional ‘braai’ (bbq) before camping the night.

days 3-6

The Okavango Delta

The Okavango, a massive river spilling its contents into the Kalahari sands, creates one of the world’s only true inland deltas and a unique ecosystem that supports a huge variety of animal and plant life.

You travel on sandy tracks to the heart of the Delta then continue by Mokoro (traditional canoe). Spend three nights in true wilderness.

days 7-11

Game Reserves

Now prepare for the game viewing part of the trip. Perched high on your wellequipped vehicle you head north into the wilderness, passing remote villages along the way. You spend five days in these reserves, starting with Moremi. Then head on north via Xakanaxa to camp near North Gate, an area excellent for game viewing with afternoon and morning drives along the wetland areas.

Then on up to Savuti, the area offers a multitude of game drive options and a very active campsite.

days 12-13

Victoria Falls

Waking in the adventure capital of Africa, explore the amazing Victoria Falls, ‘Mosi o Tunya’, ‘The smoke that Thunders’.

After admiring this wonder of the world, take a light aircraft ‘flip’ over the falls or a boat trip on the Zambezi River, White Water Rafting, Bungee Jumping, or an Elephant Back Safari - allowance must be made for the extra expense.

Spend a further two nights at the Victoria Falls Inn.

day 14

Johannesburg To Heathrow

This morning you will transfer to Victoria Falls Airport in time for your return overnight flight to London, via Johannesburg.
