7 rooms, 2 family units, 2 Houses, 1 Villa

Kaya Mawa, located on fascinating Likoma Island in Lake Malawi, was built in partnership with the local community. Stone and teak framed structures are set into a granite headland, and utilise natural materials as far as possible. Sandy beaches stretch in both directions.

The Lodge

There are 4 standard rooms facing the lake at the foot of a rocky promontory, with private decks. There are 2 family houses on the main beach, each with one double and one twin or triple room, with a shared bathroom. The 3 premium rooms have lake views from the bedroom and the verandahs. One is a private island and the other two are perched up on the rocks with private pools. The two luxury houses (Mainja and Madimba) are ideal for honeymooners and families, and the 4-bedroom fully-staffed Ndomo House is ideal for those wanting complete privacy.

Island Life

Explore Likoma Island on foot or by bike or quad bike. The locals are very welcoming and the island culture is very accessible, including the amazing cathedral. Excellent diving and snorkelling can be enjoyed here, as well as kayaking, windsurfing and sailing. A wide range of activities and watersports are available, including diving.
