Situated at the tip of a peninsula on Mozambique’s northern mainland, Coral Lodge lies within a nature reserve and is surrounded by mangroves, a tidal lagoon and miles of deserted beaches.
Guest areas are accessed via wooden walkways and include a swimming pool, sundeck and a small Spa. Coral Lodge offers history, culture, land and water based activities including diving (full PADI dive centre), snorkelling, whale watching (seasonal June - November), canoeing, dhow sailing, windsurfing and fishing, boat trips to the Ilha de Mozambique (20 minute boat trip), and visits to the local Macua tribe and African cooking with the chef.
This beach sanctuary comprises of just 10 thatched villas (two of which are family friendly) that tastefully blend luxury and comfort with the authentic feel of Mozambique style and simplicity. With polished coconut-wood shutters and Arab-African fabrics the villas are large with a bedroom and indoor seating area, chic en-suite bathrooms with a free-standing bath, double vanity and outdoor shower, air-conditioned canopy beds draped with mosquito nets, hairdryer, fully-stocked minibar, tea and coffee facilities and a private deck with sun loungers and magnificent sea or lagoon views. Guest areas are accessed via low wooden walkways and include a dining deck, bar, comfortable relaxation lounges, the Reef Restaurant with its imaginative menu, a swimming pool, sundeck and a small Spa.
Please Note - the beach is tidal and at low tide can be a 500m walk from the lodge to the sea, although the lagoon always has water and low tide is actually the best for snorkelling.
