VICTORIA FALLS HOLIDAYS
Described by the local tribesman as ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’ - ‘the Smoke that Thunders’, in reference to the colossal columns of spray, the Victoria Falls are a spectacular sight and one of the undoubted natural wonders of the world.
Over a width of nearly 2 km, almost 550 million cubic meters of water per minute cascade over the edge, at the height of the flood season, into the gorge 100 metres below. On the opposite cliff, facing the falls, you can take a walk through the ‘rain forest’ that results from the perpetual spray, with many amazing viewing spots - but don’t carry anything that you don’t want to get wet! The Victoria Falls area is also rapidly becoming known as one of the ‘Adventure Centres’ of Southern Africa with various adrenaline sports, breathtaking scenery and many other leisure options for outdoor lovers. Hotels range from comfortable 3-star properties to exclusive riverside lodges.
