SIBUYA TENTED CAMPS

Sibuya Game Reserve & Tented Camps is a beautifully scenic game reserve on South Africa’s malaria-free Sunshine Coast. Spanning the Kariega Estuary on its course to meet the warm Indian Ocean, Sibuya is South Africa’s only game reserve accessed solely by boat, and includes the Big Five, with a cheetah breeding project. Friendly, professional guides offer game drives, rewarding walks and exclusive boat trips with excellent birding. THE CAMPS

Forest Camp is tucked unobtrusively away into the vegetation, the 8 stylish safari tents on raised wooden walkways. Each large tent is adjoined by a large en-suite bathroom, accommodates two adults sharing in king or twin beds, and sits under an all-weather roof. Wide decks offer views of the river or forest.

The smaller, more intimate River Camp has four tents, ideal for families with children, again with en-suite bathrooms and decks with river or forest views. The dining experience is varied and imaginative, and good South African wines are served with the tasty meals. River Camp is ideal for families.

Bush Lodge has four secluded luxury thatched suites. These stunningly appointed units are private, spacious and fully en-suite with outside and inside showers and private sun/viewing decks. Each room has a bar fridge, tea/coffee station and for hot summer nights, air-conditioning. A wood-burning fireplace adds a cosy touch for the cooler winter evenings. Comfortable King-size or Queen-size beds with fine 100% percale linen ensure a wonderful restful night.

LEISURE & ACTIVITIES

The most popular activities on Sibuya are the game drives and walks, but many guests also take advantage of the opportunity to try their hand at fishing from the camp jetties. Canoes at the camps are regularly used by guests, keen paddlers and novices alike. Birding and game viewing on horseback is a wonderful way to experience nature at close quarters. Birdsong provides the perfect background sound while enjoying a massage on the deck of one of our luxurious tents. Excursions off the reserve can also be arranged for activities such as golf, horse-riding (on the beach), deep-sea fishing or historical tours of the area. For the avid birder, few destinations can offer anything close to the very special experience that Sibuya visitors enjoy.
