On arrival into Maun Airport, you will be met and transferred to your first lodge for a nights stay. You will have the afternoon at leisure where you can relax, either by the pool, in your room or at the bar, or get a little more adventurous with a sunset cruise along the river. In the evening at 18h00, you will meet your guide and the rest of the group for a pre-departure meeting.

The traditional capital of the Tswana people, Maun got its name from the San word “Maung”, which means the “place of short reeds”. It’s now generally known as the Tourism capital of Botswana, with great access to many of Botswana’s most iconic game reserves and national parks. 

Today head off to the Okavango Delta, to start a 2 night stay in the reserve. The area is renowned for the high concentration of game. The peak time for game viewing is between July and November, when the wildlife flocks to the permanent waters. Explore the network of narrow waterways of the delta in a mokoro (a traditional dugout canoe), spotting wildlife and birds along the way. There is also the chance to stop at a secluded island, to take a guided walk through the bush. 

After breakfast today, head via. Maun to Mogogelo Camp, in a private concession in the Greater Moremi region. Botswana’s commitment to eco-tourism has resulted in an experience that offers a reserve in it’s most unspoilt, impressive and natural condition. Since the reintroduction of Black and White Rhino, Moremi is a ‘Big 5’ destination, along with giraffes, cheetah, hyaena, jackal, red lechwe and over 500 species of birds. Today the Moremi Reserve remains the only officially protected area of the Okavango Delta and is of great conservation, environmental and scientific importance.

Enjoy game watching in this reserve, seeing different game depending on the time of year. Extra driving may be required to find game, due to animals migrating closer to the river. Your guide will take you on a night drive, to spot some rare nocturnal animals. 

This morning sees you head off in the direction of the Makgadikgadi Pans, one of the largest salt flats in the world and all that remains of the formerly huge Lake Makgadikgadi. The area incorporates multiple salt pans and grass plains, and cumulatively makes up the largest area of salt pans in the world, covering over 37,000 square km. 

Head off to the Nata Bird Sanctuary, which offers the opportunity to enjoy the view over the Sowa Pain. After, you will head towards Kasane which is the gateway to the Chobe National Park. Being the second largest national park in Botswana, Chobe covers 10,566 square km, and has one of the greatest concentrations of elephants found anywhere in Africa.

Enjoy a day of game drives and boat cruise safaris in the Chobe National Park, spotting a variety of wildlife. 

Depart from Chobe in the morning for a road transfer over the border into Zimbabwe, where you will travel on to Hwange National Park for some time in this wildlife rich area. 

Over the next days, explore Hwange National Park that spans 14,000 square kilometres, is the largest reserve in the country and is renowned for its huge population of Elephants. From November to April the seasonal rains transform the park to lush grasslands where an abundance of plains game and birds are found, and between August and November the dried out plains drive animals to congregate at the few waterholes. A visit to the Painted Dog Conservation Centre is included to see how this endangered species is being protected. You can also engage with the anti-poaching unit and learn about the vital work that these conservation warriors do.

Today sees you travel to Victoria Falls to visit one of the seven wonders of the world. Spend an evening on a sunset cruise up the Zambezi River, enjoy a tour of the mighty Victoria Falls, and some time at leisure - affording you the opportunity to take advantage of some of the many activities on offer in the area.

The activities offered at Victoria Falls are seemingly endless, with options of walking tours in the park, cycle tours, scenic flights, sunset or sunrise boat cruises, game drives, cultural excursions, bridge tours, sunset bridge train run and white water rafting.

The tour ends this morning, when you will be transferred to Victoria Falls Airport for your onward travel arrangements.
