In a quiet area on the west coast overlooking the bay of Saint-Leu, 500m from the lagoon, the moment you step inside this Creole style boutique hotel, redolent of a bygone age with its white-washed walls and shingle roof, a verse by Charles Baudelaire comes to mind (according to the hotel anyway) - "Here, everything is only order and beauty, luxury, calm and voluptuousness." It certainly is a stylish property, filled with fabulous paintings and sculptures. Time stops on the terrace, overlooking the blue swimming-pool, the blue sky and the blue sea - this is the Blue Margouillat Seaview Hotel.
The innovative afternoon snack cart is available around the swimming pool or at the bar. The gastronomic evening menu boasts originality with its fresh dishes seasoned with Reunion Island spices, complemented by an excellent wine list, a champagne list, a tea & coffee list, a liqueur & digestif list and a cocktail list - that's a lot of lists.
Each of the classic 14 rooms & suites (12 rooms, 2 suites) has a private terrace or balcony. The standard rooms overlook the bay of Saint-Leu with an open-plan-style bathroom, separated from the bedroom with a voile curtain, and a walk-in shower and bath. The 2 large suites are situated in the garden, below the swimming-pool, with a separate bedroom and living-room, and indoor/outdoor shower in a private tropical garden and a spa bath, all with views of the Indian Ocean.
