Situated in the heart of one of South Africa’s most spectacular Garden Route towns, The Plettenberg is an exquisite five star hotel. A location in a league of its own, the hotel sits on a rocky headland in the middle of town, overlooking miles of sandy beaches, the Otteniqua Mountains and Formosa Bay. The two iconic hotel infinity pools merge visually with the ocean beyond and each of the villas has a private sundeck and swimming pool. The Carchele Beauty Spa offers an extensive range of treatments (additional charge). From its ideal location The Plettenberg is within walking distance of Central Beach, and a variety of shops and local restaurants. It is a short drive to many of the Garden Route’s excellent outdoor activities from dolphin and whale watching to elephant interactions, treetop canopy tours and nature reserves.
ROOMS & SUITES
The Plettenberg boasts 37 rooms and suites, all with breathtaking vistas. Individually decorated in classical elegance, rooms vary in size and views but all feature en-suite bathrooms, under-floor heating and air-conditioning. Other special touches include slippers, tea and coffee delivered in the morning, a welcome bottle of wine and complimentary local newspapers and WiFi.
There are two villas. The Lookout Villa is a 3-bedroom villa, ideal for families, with an open-plan lounge and dining area. The 2-bedroom Beach House has a spacious deck overlooking both the beach and surrounding mountains of Plettenberg Bay. Both villas enjoy easy access to The Plettenberg’s hotel facilities in the adjacent buildings, while still relishing the privacy this accommodation option offers. They also each have private swimming pools, flat-screen televisions, DVD players, satellite TV, and Wi-Fi.
