On arrival into Cape Town International Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel for your 3-night stay.
Described by Sir Francis Drake in 1580 as ‘the fairest cape in all the world’, the ‘Mother City’ of Cape Town is one of the world’s top tourist destinations. The oldest city in the country, nestled in the shadow of Table Mountain, Cape Town is a vibrant and colourful city.
With plenty to offer the tourist you should never get bored. Table Mountain is the iconic backdrop of Cape Town rising over 1000m above sea level - it can be seen from all over the city. Taking the revolving cable car up to the top is a must or if you’re feeling adventurous there are several hiking routes to the summit.
The Victoria & Alfred (V&A) Waterfront is a prime attraction in the city, a working harbour and tourist attraction offering world class shopping, a huge variety of restaurants, cafes & bars and the Two Oceans Aquarium. The ferry trip to Robben Island, the site of Nelson Mandela’s incarceration for much of his 27 years in prison, leaves from here.
The park-like botanical gardens at Kirstenbosch, Cape Town’s beaches and the city centre with its outdoor street markets, boutique shops & stylish restaurants are all added attractions.

DAYS 5-12
ROVOS RAIL, CAPE TOWN TO VICTORIA FALLS - INDULGE YOURSELF
This seven-day journey commences in Cape Town and ends at the majestic Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. After the Cape Town journey, arrive in Pretoria for an introduction to our beautifully appointed station. Join in an optional tour of the city or have the afternoon at leisure before spending the night at your hotel. The train departs the following morning on the Victoria Falls journey for 3 nights, arriving Sunday.
Day 5
11h00 - Depart From Platform 23 at Cape Town Station and travel inland through the winelands.
13h00 - Lunch is served in the dining cars.
16h30 - Tea Is served in the lounge and observation cars.
18h00 - Visit the historical village of Matjiesfontein.
19h30 - Dinner is served in the dining cars.
Day 6
07h00 - Breakfast is served until 10h00.
13h00 - Lunch is served in the dining cars.
14h30 - Arrive in Kimberley for a tour of the renowned city, the Diamond Mine Museum and the extraordinary Big Hole.
16h30 - Tea is served as the train departs Kimberley.
19h30 - Dinner is served in the dining cars. Overnight on board the train.
Day 7
07h00 - Breakfast is served in the dining cars until 10h00 as the train travels via Krugersdorp and Johannesburg through the goldfields of the Witwatersrand towards Pretoria.
12h00 - Arrive at journey’s end at Rovos Rail Station in Capital Park, Pretoria. Overnight in Pretoria.
Day 8
09h30 - The train departs Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria.
13h00 - Lunch is served in the dining cars as the train travels north through Warmbaths and Nylstroom, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn.
Enjoy afternoon tea and dinner en route to Messina and Beitbridge for Zimbabwe border formalities.

Day 9
Day at leisure. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served as the train travels towards Bulawayo via Rutenga and Somabhula. Overnight stop on board at Mpopoma.
Day 10
07h00 - Breakfast is served as the train departs Mpopoma.
13h00 - Enjoy lunch while travelling along the eastern edge of Hwange Park along one of Africa’s longest stretches of straight railway line – 114 kilometres.
15h00 - Arrive at Kennedy Siding for a game drive at The Hide.
19h30 - Dinner is served in the dining cars en route to Thompsons Junction for the overnight stop.
Day 11
07h00 - Breakfast is enjoyed while travelling towards the Zambezi River.
10h00 - Arrive at journey’s end in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.

DAYS 13-14
THE SMOKE THAT THUNDERS!
On arrival into Victoria Falls you will be met and transferred to the your hotel or lodge for your 2-night stay. The Victoria Falls are a spectacular sight and one of the undoubted natural wonders of the world. Over a width of nearly 2 km, almost 550 million cubic meters of water per minute cascade over the edge, at the height of the flood season, into the gorge 100 metres below.
There are plenty of different ways to see the Falls – on a guided walking tour; a cruise on the Zambezi; or in a light aircraft or helicopter. This area is also well known as an activity centre – white-water rafting; microlighting; bungee jumping; river boarding; tandem kayaking; abseiling; safaris; and finally the gorge swing!
